Truck bodies are used to implement various solutions for areas of application that require both high mobility and the use and availability of large quantities of equipment. Classic box bodies, as well as specially adapted special constructions, are used by authorities or companies. Similar to container construction, fully-fledged workstations can be created within the truck bodies for the police, military or fire department, for example, as well as other authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS). The extensive technical equipment is one of the most important aspects when defining specifications - after all, vehicles with adapted truck bodies are used in different situations.
Truck bodies: Planning and customization
Truck bodies are planned, adapted and designed according to the individual specifications of the customer as part of the vehicle technology tasks. Whether as troop transport, medical supply vehicle or mobile command center, the possibilities for the realization of the corresponding special vehicles are manifold. It is therefore important that the basic concept is developed in close coordination with the client - only through efficient and detailed planning can truck superstructures be created that meet the technical and structural standards required for deployment. With the help of modern methods of system integration, measures for EMC shielding, efficient air conditioning systems and a self-sufficient energy supply for the commissioning and maintenance of technical systems can also be incorporated. In addition, control desks are usually part of the workstations created in this way.
The command vehicle 2, which is used by the fire department and disaster control, is based on truck or bus chassis and can therefore also be realized with truck superstructures. ELW 1 or command vehicles based on passenger cars are much more compact and designed for other operational situations, for example for smaller operations and crew sizes.
Some specially adapted trucks are also used to transport technically equipped container solutions, for example for the military. These are also capable of moving in difficult terrain and thus ensure mobility in remote regions.
