Setup kit

The term "scaffolding kit" refers to a set of special equipment in a fire department or army vehicle. The structure and space requirements of the equipment set are a central part of the concept in special vehicle construction, as the conversion must be tailored to the specific needs of the equipment set for ideal space utilization.

Set-up kit for the Bundeswehr

Bundeswehr vehicles that are equipped with an armament kit are referred to as "armament kit carriers". In these, the actual armament kit is integrated into a box body, with the aim of achieving mission-specific usability. Well-known examples of kit carriers are VW transporters, the "Fuchs" wheeled armored personnel carrier and the "Wolf", a special development of the first generation Mercedes G-Class. Depending on the wheelbase and configuration, the latter vehicle can be equipped with various equipment kits. These include, for example, radio equipment, armament or a special kit for transporting the wounded.

Set-up kit for the fire department

In the fire department, scaffolding kits are also used in emergency vehicles. Here too, the composition of the equipment set with the equipment to be used plays an important role in the planning and implementation of the special vehicle.

Scaffolding kits of various compositions can provide effective assistance in the event of traffic accidents or other incidents. For example, they contain hydraulically or electrically operated rescue equipment such as spreaders and scissors for use by the fire department. These each exert forces of several tons and are specialized in rescuing injured persons from cars or wagons. Other rescue kits include stretchers or trolleys, which are used to transport people and essential equipment in the event of an accident.
