Due to the increased weight of vehicle armor(ballistic protection for the body and windows, fail-safe wheels with emergency running properties, necessary adjustments to the vehicle geometry), an armored special vehicle requires high-performance brakes that can withstand these forces.
The components of the conventional brake system, i.e. brake discs, brake calipers and brake pads, are exchanged for use in special vehicle construction and replaced by custom-made products. Larger brake discs and brake calipers made from particularly powerful and resistant materials are designed to ensure excellent deceleration and minimal fading with repeated use.
High-performance brakes for the military
High-performance brakes are also in demand for military use. In addition to the high weight of the vehicles, there are other factors that characterize this type of high-performance braking system. For example, the optimum function of high-performance braking systems must be guaranteed in a wide range of environments and scenarios - in hot and cold conditions, on asphalt, gravel, scree and sand as well as on steep inclines and declines.
For the best possible durability of the brake material, the position of the brake piston can also be adjusted in the idle state (piston reset), which potentially significantly reduces wear and minimizes maintenance when the brake is dirty.
