The mains connection box is an important part of the electronic equipment in transportable military function rooms, i.e. a cabin, a container or a shelter. In conjunction with a transformer box, mains connection boxes protect against excessive touch voltages and connected loads against overvoltage. The unit comprising the mains connection box and transformer box is referred to as a mains connection unit.
The use of a mains connection box allows the connection of various devices and thus contributes significantly to the expansion of possible uses within the facility. Mains connection boxes are used for connecting IT equipment, among other things. In the field, it is also important that the mains connection box is protected against other external threats, such as a NEMP, in addition to lightning protection. The modern mains connection box is therefore generally equipped with a NEMP protection function.
