Motorhome - the home on wheels

A motorhome is a special vehicle that can also be referred to as a camper van or caravan. It is a vehicle designed to serve as both a means of transportation and a habitable space. Unlike conventional vehicles that are only used for driving, motorhomes are equipped to serve as mobile accommodation and are sometimes not produced in series, but as individual projects in special vehicle construction.

This is why motorhomes come in different shapes and sizes, but they typically always have a living area with kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and usually also a seating and dining area. There are different categories of motorhomes, which are divided into Class A, Class B and Class C, which refers to size, construction and equipment:

  • Class A motorhome: These are often the largest and most luxurious motorhomes. They usually have a spacious interior and are built on a special chassis.
  • Class B motorhome (also known as a camper van): They are more compact and often resemble a converted van. They are easier to maneuver and often have better fuel efficiency.
  • Class C motorhome: These vehicles are a mixture of Class A and Class B and are built on a truck chassis. They often have a sleeping area suspended above the driver's cab.

A motorhome is often used for leisure activities such as camping, traveling and vacations, as they offer the flexibility of being on the road while having the comforts of home. Custom-built vehicles are motorhomes that are designed as off-road vehicles for adventurous terrain.
