Electrification in special vehicle construction is a crucial point, especially in the military sector. Depending on where it is used, the vehicle has to manage without an additional energy source for a longer period of time. Conventional vehicle batteries are sometimes unable to provide such enormous power. Modularity therefore plays an important role in special vehicle construction.
Intelligent energy solutions for special vehicles include, for example, appropriate fuel cells that guarantee a self-sufficient energy supply. The vehicle and the technology inside it, such as computers, radio and measuring devices, can be supplied with sufficient energy over a longer period of days and even weeks. The modular power supply even makes it possible to use the fuel cells outside the vehicle as an energy source. To ensure a power supply for several weeks, a sufficient supply of hydrogen or methanol, for example in appropriate tanks, should be carried.
In addition to a modular power supply in the form of fuel cells, Norrenbrock Technik installs self-sufficient energy supply solutions, such as photovoltaic systems for containers or shelters. The self-sufficient energy supply of special vehicles can also be ensured by a power supply via an auxiliary drive.
